New Local Jobs and Business Opportunities for Matagorda County

Building and operating the White Stallion Energy Center will provide local residents with new job and career opportunities and will stimulate area businesses during the four to five-year construction period and beyond. As soon as the development is approved, White Stallion’s general contractor, will begin contracting with local suppliers and hiring for the currently estimated 2,250 positions needed to build the plant. It is our goal to hire Matagorda County-area residents whenever possible. To that end, we’re working with area educators to develop programs locally to train potential employees for these positions.

Upon completion, White Stallion Energy Center will employ up to 200 professional and support staff to manage and operate the plant. These permanent employees will earn an average salary of $70,000, plus benefits.
